A meeting of the elders council of New Life Christian Ministries was held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, 8pm, at The Bridge, 102 Bay St., Penn Twp., Butler. 

 

Attendance:  Elders Pat Fecich (ex officio), Chris Marshall, David Norris, Frank Relihan.  Elder Jim Brown was excused.

 

The meeting was opened with prayer and devotions with the Nehemiah Team. 

 

Personnel:  Ali Campbell, nursery coordinator, received a positive ministry review and it is recommended to move her to permanent employment status.  Elders concurred with the recommendation.

 

Compensation increases for the ministry staff will be considered at the end of the second quarter.

 

Carry-Over:  Pastor Chris and Pat will review the by-laws and work on a budget after Easter.

 

Corporate:  There are eight covenanting disciples who have yet to sign their 2008 commitment card.  Pastor Chris will follow-up and have their decisions by the next meeting.

 

Since Pat and Dennis are moving, the mailing address for the church will be changing.  The by-laws were amended, as follows, to reflect this change: 

 

The church maintains its principal office at 102 Bay Street, Butler, Penn Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania 16002.  The mailing address of the Corporation is c/o 1032 Carriage Lane, Saxonburg, PA  16056. 

 

Church Van:  The radiator was replaced in the church van.  Cost was $192.60.  Thanks to Aaron Johns and Ed Sell for their help with this repair.

 

Recall notice received from Ford re Fused Jumper Harness that contains circuit polarity that is not compatible with the vehicle.  Could result in underhood fire – whether engine is running or not.  George Trinidad will see that the van is taken to Butler County Ford for the recall fix.

 

127 Knoch Rd.:  It was decided to hold additional outdoor worship celebrations at the property this summer.  Dates will coincide with the scheduled activities/picnics:  June 1, July 20, August 17, September 14.  There will be a fall festival at the property on October 19 – but no worship there on that date.

 

Pastor Chris and Ed Sell are working to see that electrical service to the property is in place by June 1.

 

Calling of Elders/Deacons:  Elders for children’s nurture; fellowship; pastoral care; stewardship are to be called.  Deacons for nursery and childcare; building and grounds; set-up and transportation; welcome; offering counting are to be called.  A fifth member of the elders council is to be called. 

 

CLUB:  Working with the Nehemiah Team on building design, financial plan and site preparation.

 

Attendance and Financial Reports:  Attendance average (through first 10 Sundays) is 180.50 (159.80 in 2007).  Balance in sharing fund, as of March 10, 2008, is -$1,796.15 ($2,796.42in 2007).  Balance in CLUB is $46,468.85 and $50,769.08 in CLUB savings. 

 

God has provided $47,499.19 through the generous givers at New Life through the first ten Sundays in 2008.  This is an average of $4,749.92 per Sunday and a 14.01% increase over 2007.  Attendance has increased 12.95% for the first ten Sundays over the same time period in 2007.  Since the Generous Giving series was held, there has been a 28.14% increase in giving to the sharing fund.  Thanks be to God for His generous givers and provision!

 

Pat distributed copies of the 2007 audit to the elders. 

 

Other:  The batteries have been purchased for CD Richard Carlton’s (a resident at Sugar Creek Rest Home) motorized wheelchair.  He is appreciative for this gift and is enjoying having his wheels back! 

 

Next Meeting:  The next meeting of the elders council will be on Wednesday, April 9, 7pm at The Bridge.
