It's Saturday again. The day to prepare our hearts for worship. Tomorrow's focus in the message series at New Life is "Sloth" and the message title is "Wake Up!" You can prepare for that aspect of worship by reading Proverbs 24:30-34, and by taking some time to reflect on how you invest your time and life each day. Pray for God to fill every member of the worship team with the Holy Spirit and to use them to glorify Himself, and to lead us into His presence. As you go about the day, you can prepare your heart for worship by pausing from time to time and simply thanking God for the opportunity to know Jesus and to live in His Spirit. Worship truly is an ongoing experience for those of us who know the living God of the universe through His Son, Jesus. The opportunity we have on Sundays to worship together gives us time each week to gain a glimpse of heaven, where we'll worship with COUNTLESS believers from all times and places--talk about a MEGA church! Pray for folks you know who don't have a church, or even folks you haven't seen in worship for a while to join us tomorrow. Many times in the past I have prayed for folks I haven't seen in worship for a while as I've prayed through my list of all the people who have attended New Life and signed a connection card at one time or another and simply said, "God, bring them to worship this Sunday," and they've come. In addition to that you can call the person, and even offer to pick them up and bring them. Tomorrow, we'll also be celebrating the Ladies Day Tea in honor of all the women and girls of New Life, since it's Mothers' Day here in America. I'm looking forward to honoring the women in my life: My Mom (who won't be with us, since she passed from this life 21 years ago), Nancy (my wife), Abby ( our older daughter, who also won't be with us, because of her living in Virginia) and Emmy (our younger daughter.) For those for whom novelty attracts, you'll be surprised to see my attire for the day, so come and see. As you go about the day, remember that corporate worship of our amazing God holds many promises in Scripture, not the least of which is that when two or more of us gather in Jesus name, He is there! I hope you'll be there, too!
