Saturday AGAIN! Does it seem to you as if some weeks go from Saturday to Saturday in about four days? This summer has been flying by, hasn't it? Maybe this past week not so much if you live in western PA, or most places in the U.S. where the weather has been oppressively hot. I was so thankful for the thunderstorm last night that instantly dropped the temperature by what seemed like thirty degrees. Anyway, tomorrow is Sunday, so it's time to prepare ourselves for it. Tomorrow's an important day at New Life. We're finishing our "Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll" series with a focus on Rock n Roll. I'm sure everyone will want to be there to find out what God has to say about Rock n Roll! We're also celebrating believer baptisms, which is always a highlight of our life together. AND we'll enjoy each other's company as we picnic together after worship. (Because of another day of anticipated heat index greater than 100 degrees, we'll be picnicking indoors!) What about today? What are you going to do today to celebrate Jesus' presence in your life? Who do you know who would appreciate tomorrow's worship and fellowship, who isn't currently involved in a local church, or who doesn't know Jesus? Why not cal them up, or even stop by and ask them personally to worship with us tomorrow! When will you take some time today to read God's word? (Maybe you already have. After all, it's getting late!) When will you pause to praise God, to thank Him, and to lift up your needs? Thankfully, God gives us opportunities every, single day to glorify Him on our own. Take advantage of today, and join us tomorrow--or join some local group of believers if you're not going to be in the western PA region, who will gather to praise and serve our amazing God! Let's pray: Heavenly Father, Thank You for who You are and for being worthy of our worship and praise! Fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may be and do all You call us to today. This we ask in Jesus' name. Amen. |
